Frequently Asked Questions
What is Transformational Coaching?
Transformational Coaching helps you look beneath the surface of your challenges — the patterns, beliefs, or habits that keep you stuck — so that real change can happen.
It’s not about quick fixes or surface-level goals. Instead, it’s about reconnecting with your authentic self, clarifying what truly matters, and creating a life that feels aligned, sustainable, and meaningful.
During coaching sessions, you have space to focus entirely on yourself - without distraction or judgment. It’s a time to pause, reflect, and explore your wants and needs with curiosity, supported by a coach who listens deeply, challenges gently, and helps you uncover your own insights and next steps.
Is coaching like therapy?
Coaching and Therapy serve different purposes.
Therapy often focuses on healing and understanding the past, while coaching is future-oriented and action-based. In coaching, we may briefly explore your backstory when it helps illuminate patterns or beliefs, but we don’t stay there. The focus is on where you are now and where you want to go next.
Coaching helps you clarify what matters most, explore possibilities, and take aligned steps forward. It’s not a substitute for therapy, but it can be a powerful complement — especially after, or alongside, personal healing work.
Coaching complements — but does not replace — therapeutic or mental health care.
If you’re experiencing severe depression, anxiety, or distress, please reach out for professional support from a doctor, psychologist, or local mental health service. There are also free helplines available by phone or online — please use them if needed.
Seeking help is a sign of strength. Everyone’s path to well-being is different, and finding what works best for you truly matters - because you matter.
What are your coaching qualifications?
I am a Certified Professional Coach with Erickson Coaching International and an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). I have completed accredited coach training, ongoing professional development, and have put in over 100 hours of classroom training and 100+ hours of paid coaching practice. I adhere to the ICF Code of Ethics and Core Competencies in every session.
My training equips me to create a safe, reflective, and results-oriented coaching space, supporting clients in clarifying values, exploring possibilities, and taking aligned action.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes - our sessions are private and your reflections are held in confidentiality. For full details on boundaries and exceptions, please see my [Privacy Policy] and [Disclaimer].
Are sessions virtual or in person?
All sessions are conducted virtually via video call (Google Meet). This allows you to participate from the comfort of your home or office and provides flexibility for scheduling. You click on the link in the confirmation email and join the meeting.
How does coaching work?
Coaching is a collaborative process —you set the direction.
You choose what we explore, what feels most important, and the pace that works for you.
My role is to partner with you: asking meaningful questions, offering reflections, and holding space for your insights to emerge.
Each session is structured around your goals and priorities. Together, we’ll clarify what matters most, explore new possibilities, and create actionable steps to help you move forward.
Over time, this approach builds self-awareness, resilience, and confidence — helping you trust your own voice, values, and decision-making, both in and beyond our sessions.
Who benefits from coaching?
I work with clients who are ready to explore meaningful change in their lives — whether in
career transitions, personal growth, aligning life with values, or identity-based transitions.
This includes retirees or those approaching retirement, as well as people navigating personal or professional identity shifts.
That said, we all have to start somewhere. Even if you’re not exactly sure what you want or need right now, coaching can help you gain clarity, uncover possibilities, and take the first steps toward what matters most to you.
How do I get started?
The first step is a 60-minute Discovery Consultation, which gives us a chance to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and see if coaching is a good fit. The session includes a free complementary coaching experience, so you can experience firsthand how coaching can help you reflect, clarify, and take aligned action. You’ll leave with clarity on next steps and a sense of how coaching could support you.

How long are sessions, how often do we meet, and what are the rates?
Subsequent coaching sessions are typically 60 minutes long to allow for exploration and insight to occur without any time pressure; also, most clients start with a weekly or biweekly schedule, depending on their goals and availability.
Rates, packages, and any applicable discounts are discussed during the Discovery Consultation, so we can find an approach that feels fair and reasonable for your unique situation. I believe coaching should be accessible, and I work with clients to create arrangements that honour both your needs and the professional nature of the work.
