Frequently Asked Questions

  • Transformational coaching focuses on deep, lasting change. It’s not about quick fixes or surface-level goals - it’s about reconnecting with your authentic self, clarifying what truly matters, and creating a life that feels aligned, sustainable, and meaningful.

  • Coaching and therapy are different. Therapy often focuses on healing past wounds, while coaching is future-oriented and solution-focused, helping you clarify what matters, explore possibilities, and take aligned action. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy, but it can be a powerful complement, especially post-recovery.

  • You do. Coaching is a collaborative process, but you set the direction. You choose what we explore, what feels most important, and what pace feels right. My role is to partner with you - asking powerful questions, offering reflections, and holding space for your insights to emerge.

This approach helps you become more self-aware, resilient, and empowered. Over time, you’ll build deeper trust in your own voice, values, and decision-making - not just in session, but in life.

  • Yes. I’m an ICF ACC (International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach) credentialed coach and an Erickson Certified Professional Coach (ECPC). I’ve completed accredited coach training and ongoing professional development, and I adhere to the ICF Code of Ethics and Core Competencies in every session.

I have put in over 96 hours of classroom training and over 100 hours of coaching hours.

  • You’ll have up to 60 minutes with me - including a 30-minute coaching session. You’re welcome to ask questions about coaching, explore what you’re looking for, and get a feel for how we might work together. At the end, we’ll assess our fit. There’s no pressure to commit.

  • Not at all. Many clients come in with uncertainty, confusion, or just a sense that something needs to shift. Coaching is a space to explore freely - we’ll start where you are and move at a pace that feels right for you.

  • I work with people navigating life and identity shifts - including career pivots, post-burnout integration, coming out, cultural conditioning, and retirement. My clients come from diverse backgrounds and are seeking clarity, authenticity, and emotional safety.

  • Absolutely. As a gay Chinese Canadian, I understand the complexities of identity, belonging, and emotional safety. I offer a supportive, affirming space for LGBTQIA2S+ clients to explore their truth, navigate change, and live authentically.

  • Yes. Retirement can be a major life shift - one that brings questions about purpose, identity, and what comes next. I support retirees in exploring this new chapter with clarity, curiosity, and emotional depth.

  • Yes. Many clients come to coaching feeling shaped by others’ expectations - family, culture, workplace, or society - and unsure how to reconnect with their own truth. Coaching offers a safe space to explore who you are beneath the roles, assumptions, and comparisons. Together, we’ll clarify what feels authentic to you, gently challenge limiting beliefs, and support you in living with more alignment, agency, and self-trust.

  • Yes. Work-life balance isn’t just about time management - it’s about honouring your energy, values, and emotional truth. Whether you’re feeling stretched too thin, stuck in survival mode, or unsure how to set boundaries, coaching can help you clarify what matters most and create space for both work and life to coexist in a way that feels sustainable. Together, we’ll explore what balance looks like for you - not based on external expectations, but on your own definition of fulfillment.

  • I feel that an effective Life Coach requires a certain level of comprehension and skill and unfortunately, at this time, I don’t feel that my level in French is adequate enough.

I do recommend that you reach out to Charles Dalpé, who is an excellent Coach, who provides various services in French. Here is his website: https://www.espacebonheur.ca/
